Most people associate Tantra with sex or…with the singer Sting who swears by tantric sex. So when thinking about going for a Tantra session, one can understand the nerves that comes before your first consultation. Will you be uncomfortable? Shakti Malan of Shakti Tantra can assure you that discomfort is no way involved in this spiritual practice.
What’s spiritual about sex and what does Tantra have to do with it? Nothing really. Shakti Tantra draws the line between Tantra and sex sharing that a sexology session addresses sexual conditions, while Tantra looks at deeper levels of being, such as, perceptions of love, security, belonging and identity. It’s a journey to Truth that involves every aspect of the being, including sexuality. But not sex, per se.
The purpose of Shakti Malan’s Tantra sessions is to create an awareness of who you are – body, sexuality, senses and mind. This is through opening up consciousness so that you can be steeped in the present…live in the moment. Awareness involves bring to the conscious mind everything that is unconscious in you. These include conditioning, associations, fears, desires and other things in the subconscious that keep you from living in happiness and harmony.
A session at Shakti Tantra may involve sitting in silence (something very difficult for those who are anxious), meditating, talking, dancing, movement, touching, making sounds, experiencing the senses and so on. Once again, touching will not make you feel vulnerable or uncomfortable as it is in now way sexual. Shakti Malan will use this as a guide to your spiritual, emotional and physical states.
