I’m always looking out for new and trendy restaurants around South Africa that offer amazing food and atmosphere! Well the latest edition to my list is Johannesburg’s Eatery JHB. Eatery JHB, a reclaimed car workshop, offers an exceptional setting in a small and tranquil 40-seater restaurant just off Parkmore’s main road in the eccentric vibe and bustling town of Johannesburg.
The owners, Matt and Shayne offer a host of delicious comfort-style dishes that are all very reasonable priced. Their website states, “Staying fresh, seasonal and local ensures that you will not often see the same dish twice.” This fresh take on high-class dining is what keeps locals returning to this busy establishment. The menu format always features one meat, one fish and one vegetarian starter and main.
The décor at Eatery JHB has been beautifully crafted, creating a New York vibe with face-brick panels, fused with trims of glass and steel.
The most recent menu consists of snacks, lunch and deserts. The snacks include Bangkok Fishcakes and Tomato Jelly and herbed cream cheese with Malba toast. A small selection of lunches is available, each sounding as delicious as the one before! Roast lamb open sandwich with mint, yoghurt and baby onions, or Chicken, watercress, bocconcini and roast cherry tomato salad. The desserts include Rasberry and lemon cream mille feuille and Dark chocolate parfait with spiced blueberry compote.
If you ever find yourself visiting Johannesburg, then be sure to explore this charming and vibey restaurant! The delicious food, bustling atmosphere and friendly service will ensure that you find yourself longing to return for more! Visit their website at: http://www.eateryjhb.co.za/
