Last night, South African top designer showed that he is oh so for Legit with his new Van Der Tlale collection. That’s right, David Tlale clothes, shoes and accessories are coming a Legit store near you.
Set in on the historical grounds of Joburg’s Military Museum, it was clear that David Tlale was ready to make a bit of history himself! (As if he had never created a buzz with his preceding events – can you say fashion show on Mandela Brigde? Need we say more?)
The Van Der Tlale for Legit reveal took place amongst an array of militia hardware – tanks, engines, fighter planes and the likes. And David opened the show with guns blazing clad in a black military blazer and hidden under dark sunglasses and a length of dreads. It seems the local fashion icon grew his tendrils over night as the video diary we saw before that show saw him sporting an afro.
Glam Intersections is the first theme of the new David Tlale Legit line .The garment are the meeting grounds for city glam and sophisticated chic, which make them great for transitioning from daywear to evening. Burgeoning the autumn/winter season, the pieces do transition seamlessly into spring and summer with a pair of sandals here and a tank top there.
You will love the David Tlale spin on the Twofer dress. This lady features a shimmering gold, cowl neck top and a black bodycon bottom. Accessorise the two tones with a wide, patent leather belt for a jazzed up look. Let the bad girl out with a Van Der Tlale biker mini skirt. This number features hardware in the form of zips. You can also tuck your hands into the front pockets for a cool and calm pose.
